Brrrr....

I don’t know about where you are but It is COLD here.  Bitter, bitter cold.  If I didn’t know better I could have sworn that I was back in Chicago this morning.  There are things I really miss about Chicago but the arctic temperatures of winter are not among them (neither is traffic on the Edens).  Things I do miss about Chicago…

·         The lakefront

·         Michigan Avenue

·         Neighborhood hangouts (like my old favorite Irish Oak)

·         Delicious Thai food

·         Giordano’s

·         Summer festivals

·         The El

·         My friends (this is probably the highest on my list!)

·         Old Orchard

·         Courtyard buildings

·         Hearing cheers from Wrigley

·         Daydreaming about the houses in Lake Forest

·         Lake Shore Drive

·         the Botanic Gardens

·         all the little lakes

·         my crappy apartment in the suburbs  that was all mine (but not the stupid bugs in the summer)

But life is different now.  I’m sure that even if we moved back I would have a different experience than what I hold in my memory.  For now, I’ll just remember the great times and block the cold from my mind.  Thank goodness for space heaters in my office.
